38 week update

August 1st, 2008 by Sarah

How far along are you?

38 weeks, 5 days

What symptoms are you experiencing?

-Still with the heartburn. Always heartburn

-Mild to moderate low cramps (a lot like menstrual cramps)

- Braxton Hicks

How are you feeling?

Other than mildly freaked out that my due date is 7 days away? Good. I’m feeling good. As a mild form of distraction, I’ve been putting together a 2000 piece puzzle. I am almost done. Folks, this thing is huge. It takes up my entire kitchen table. All I have left to do is a little piece of sky, but it’s soooooo hard. They are all the same color, blackish-dark blue.

Any Dr. appointments/ultrasounds/tests this past week and how did they go?

I see my midwife once a week now. Last visit she was a little concerned that my blood pressure was going up a bit. I guess I haven’t been getting enough protein, so I’ll up that a little and it should take care of my blood pressure rising. Isabella is still in the wrong position. Well, I say “wrong” but really, it’s just not optimal. Statistically speaking, babies with their backs on the right side tend to present face up instead of face down. To clarify, that does not mean HEAD up instead of head down. Her head is securely locked in my pelvis right now, she’s just not at the optimal angle. But there is no reason to think that she can’t turn during labor, or that she’ll turn the wrong way during labor. I guess only time will tell.

Anything big happening in your personal life (moving, work related, family, etc.)?

Does getting our car seat installed count? Probably not.

Any questions you want to ask?

When IS this baby going to come?

Any belly pics from this week?

No. And I am not sorry. :-P

Any food cravings?

Nourishing foods.

Tell us your favorite thing about your pregnancy this week.

Knowing that I get to meet my daughter soon!
